Shepherd Ladies

I love my shepherd ladies! My Lucia and Kaily have been keeping me company on the couch today while I get some work done. Shepherds are smart, loyal, sweet pups and these ladies are no exception!

Silly Girl!

I caught Kaily with her tongue out! She is so silly...

Room for me?!

My friends often tease me that the dogs hog our couch. Our Kaily is not small, but she can squeeze into the tiniest space if it means she will get some extra cuddle time with you. Whether it's my boyfriend playing video games or me typing away on the laptop, Kaily wants to be with us and she can nap anywhere.

We like Tennis Balls...

Kaily LOVES squeaky tennis balls! I brought home a pack of new kong tennis balls and all of the dogs were happy, but miss Kaily was super excited. She doesn't have much of a tail, just a little stub, but she makes up for it with her happy butt wiggles! And man was her butt wiggling with happiness when she got her new tennis ball!

Kaily carried it her new tennis ball everywhere she went for the next thirty minutes. Squeaking and bouncing it around the den like a big puppy. She is such an innocent, playful pup. It is amazing that something as simple as a new ball can make her so happy, but that's our Kaily. She is thankful for everything and so very happy to be loved.

Dog Teaser you say?!

We got a fun toy donated today! It was... a dog teaser! I thought Kaily might be afraid of such a weird thing flying around above her head but surprisingly her and our pitty Apollo thought it was quite possibly the coolest thing ever...

Peek-a-boo

Poor sweet Kaily is still not a fan of busy adoption events, but she tries to be brave while she watches people from behind (and sometimes between...) my legs.

Bath Time!

It was VERY muddy at our house with the winter mix this evening, otherwise known as slushy rain. All of the dogs were quite a mess, so it became bath night! Kaily was a good girl as always and after her bath she wagged her little nub tail for treats.

Another Day, Another Sweater

Pretty in Pink

It was a chilly night, so I broke out the sweaters for Kaily to wear to the adoption event this evening. She got lots of compliments and there was a clear consensus that Miss Kaily is very pretty in pink!

Rain? No problem!

Kaily has no fear of the rain! She had a blast running around and playing in the puddles even when all of the other dogs stood on the patio staring at her like she was crazy. She is a special girl this one. Very silly.

Puppy Pile!

Kaily loves giving kisses and is super cuddly for chilly evenings on the couch. It's impossible not to feel like the most loved person ever when you are with her.

The puppies decided to have a meeting in the den. I believe they plan to ask for more treats...

Bath time

Kaily got a much needed bath today! She was such a good girl and licked my elbow while I shampooed her coat. She is feeling super soft and looking very shiny. 

Snow Day!

Kaily and her foster doggie friends have been enjoying their snow day!

They have been eating mouthfuls of snow like the ground is a giant snow cone for the taking and running around playing like silly puppies. Snow brings out the kid in everyone...

Kaily loves her buddy Apollo! They are always playing and cuddling together.

The semester started up again today and Kaily wanted to know where I was all day when we could have been cuddling.

Lazy Sunday Night

Kaily has definitely become one of the pack at our house! The shepherd ladies have really bonded and are always running around the backyard chasing our pit bull Apollo. After playtime today they were ready to take a long nap. So they piled together on the couch and took a butt-to-butt snooze.

She sure is cute when she's sleeping. What a cuddle bug!

Pretty Birdie

Kaily loves her huggle hound birdie toy. It chirps, then her eyes get big and she gets so happy that her little nubbin tail wags. She can't get enough squeaks! Nylabones are pretty awesome too!

What a day!

Kaily was a brave girl and went to an adoption event without her doggie chaperon today! She was scared, but people were able to pet her and give her treats. People who came with dogs attached to them even got some finger licks. That's a big step for this scaredy girl! She sure was tired after such a long day, so when we got home it was nap time!

Nap Time

It's been so cloudy and dark that the girls and I needed a nap! Kaily is quite the cuddle bug and was sure to wake me up with puppy kisses!

Tennis Time!

Kaily LOVES tennis balls, especially the squeaky kong ones! Squeak squeak!

More Adoption Events...

Kaily tried her paws at adoption events again this weekend. She was not a fan of all of the strangers, but she tried her best to be brave while she hid under the shelving and she looked very pretty with her pink flower.

Puppy Pillow

Who likes to cuddle? This girl! Kaily loves our goofy pit bull Apollo and they have become best friends! She even uses him as a pillow!

Toy Murderer

That toy didn't have a chance. It was fluffy and soft and filled with squeakers. It was doomed to be torn to pieces. Of all of the plush toys in our home, only the Kong Ballistics have survived the force that is Kaily! Look at that face, because it is the face of a toy murderer!

Kaily love love LOVES toys! She is a very good girl and never chews any of our things, but when it comes to toys she means business. She can amuse herself by bouncing her tennis balls across the kitchen floor and dribbling them with her paws. She can often be found in a fluffy bed squeaking away as if she is playing a beautiful song for you. She loves chewing on antlers and nylabones too!

This playful sweetie is simply always happy. She is always smiling with the goofiest grin and while she may kill the weak toys, she really loves the tough ones!

Treat?!

Morning Coffee

I am a grad student, so I have the flexibility to work from home most days, especially now during winter break. Kaily has become my constant buddy and loves to snuggle on the couch with me while I drink my morning coffee and work on my dissertation from the comfort of my living room. She wiggles right next to me, puts her head on my lap, and looks up at me with those big beautiful brown eyes of hers.

I think she might be taking tips from my shepherd Lucia...

Ear Scratches

Kaily really loves ear scratches and has become my best buddy.

Couch Potato

Kaily has gotten very comfortable with us and settled in on the couch for some South Park. She can't figure out why Cartman is so mean though...

Toys, toys, and more toys!

Kaily LOVES toys, especially ones that make animal noises!

Good girl!

Kaily is such a good girl! She is already housetrained and has great house manners. She knows some basic commands like sit, lay down, and come. She is super treat motivated and learns quickly, but she also just craves praise and affection.
